Rescuers have recovered the body of Aitaj Mamedova from the Mtkvari River in Tbilisi. Mamedova had been missing since April 1, when she disappeared near the Peace Bridge. Her body was identified by family members following its discovery during a search and rescue operation.
The recovery occurred amid ongoing rescue efforts related to a separate incident on May 14, when a car carrying three passengers plunged into the Mtkvari River. As of the latest reports, one person has been rescued, and the bodies of remaining two individuals have been recovered. To aid in these efforts, authorities have reduced the water level in the riverbed.
Additionally, rescuers have found the body of another man in the Mtkvari River, unrelated to the May 14 traffic accident.
