Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Zurab Azarashvili visited the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.
The Minister conducted a meeting with Director General of National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Amiran Gamkrelidze, and personally heard prognoses regarding the spread of the new variant, Omicron.
Azarashvili toured the Richard Lugar Center and discussed with the personnel ongoing projects and future plans. He pledged support and stated that the role of the NCDC in the fight against the pandemic is of paramount importance.
“The role of the NCDC in the fight against the pandemic is of paramount importance. They also have a very important role in terms of prevention and control of various diseases. We reflected on future plans together with the employees and discussed which components may require more active involvement from the side of the Ministry. They will have all the support from me,” stated Minister.
First Deputy Minister, Tamar Gabunia visited the NCDC together with the Minister.
