MIA: Currently, Extinguished and Localized Fires Exceed the Number of Active Fires

In Borjomi Municipality, the fire localization and liquidation works were carried out continuously throughout the night with increased forces. Currently, liquidated and localized fires exceed the number of active ones, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The agency says the employees of various departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, as well as the relevant services of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture are still actively participating in the process of extinguishing the fire.

Based on the information of the Ministry, border police helicopters and three specialized firefighting planes of the Republic of Turkey resumed their work in the morning. Strong winds are still periodically recorded in the valley, which prevents the process of extinguishing the fire, however, firefighters, with the help of employees of various ministries, are doing everything to prevent the spread of the fire and to be able to localize and extinguish the fire at all existing centers in a timely manner. Also, relevant fire prevention measures are being actively carried out so that the fire does not spread to populated areas or strategic objects.

In the information released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it is mentioned that on the inaccessible terrain, where it is impossible to carry out localization and extinguishing works by means of manpower, the border police helicopters and three specialized firefighting planes of the Republic of Turkey are actively carrying out the works. No injuries have been reported so far.
