According to the government’s decision, a new passenger terminal of Mestia Airport will be built. According to Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, the project is important for the further strengthening of the tourism industries of Georgia.
In addition, she says the new terminal will be able to serve not only the current number of passengers, but also the future growth in passenger flow.
“We ensure that tourist flows in Svaneti are increasing every year. It is important for us that more domestic and international travelers visit Svaneti year round,” she noted.
