Chairman of Georgian Dream, Irakli Kobakhidze, stated that they express solidarity with the Ukrainian people, however, the position of the Ukrainian government does not allow them to participate in official formats.
“When they directly call on the Georgian people, Georgia, to open a second front; when they spread completely disgraceful lies that the Georgian government is killing Mikheil Saakashvili, torturing him, etc.; when the government of a country which is at war is engaged in spreading such lies, it is absolutely incredible. When we are directly called on to open a second front at the highest level, an official visit under such conditions is unthinkable. We express full solidarity with the Ukrainian people, and this is expressed not only by words but also by concrete actions, concrete acts of support,” Kobakhidze noted.
On February 24, one year after the full-scale invasion of Russia, the Ukrainian parliament, together with the delegations of the parliaments of various countries, invited deputies from Georgia, which the ruling team refused. The information about this was disseminated by the member of Strategy Agmashenebeli, MP Giorgi Vashadze.
