The Georgia-EU Association Council is important for the Georgia-EU relationship, which once again emphasizes our historic achievement, Georgia’s candidate status for EU membership, – the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, said after the 8th session of the Georgia-EU Association Council.
“It is a great honor for me to lead the Georgian delegation as the Prime Minister at this meeting, which is important for our partnership. The development of strategic relations with the European Union is important for Georgia, for its commitment to join the commonwealth of European democratic countries. Making progress in this area is full of challenges, each step forward is achieved through hard work. We remain committed to this journey.
“Today, the Association Council gave us the opportunity to discuss the progress that Georgia has made in the process of joining the European Union. Believe us, Georgia has shown a very strong will to fulfill its obligations, and we are firmly determined to continue moving in the same way,” Kobakhidze noted.
The government delegation led by Irakli Kobakhidze participated in the 8th session of the Georgia-EU Association Council, which was held in Brussels, at the European Council, the governmental administration reports.
The European Union delegation was led at the meeting by the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice President of the European Commission Joseph Borrell.
