Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has made comments on the recent verbal confrontation between the US and Ukrainian presidents in the Oval Office, claiming that it certainly exposed ‘who supports war and who seeks peace.’
“Yesterday, Trump once again made it clear who advocates for war and who stands for peace. Everything that transpired was already evident, so there is no need for further explanation. What is more noteworthy, however, are the statements that followed this debate.
“We witnessed remarks from individuals within the country who lack true allegiance, further revealing those who seek conflict both domestically and abroad. We have long spoken openly about the existence of a global war faction—one that profits from conflicts across various nations. While they reap financial benefits, entire countries, cities, and villages are devastated, and innocent civilians lose their lives. The situation in Ukraine is a prime example of this ongoing catastrophe.
“It is, therefore, absolutely crucial to put an end to such destruction. We have consistently exposed the forces orchestrating these events, pursuing their interests at the expense of another nation—and now, they aim to do the same in Georgia,” he stated.
He also criticized domestic political figures, pointing out their alleged advocacy for Georgia to join international sanctions, which they now deny. “When then-Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili refused to impose sanctions, some openly suggested bombs should be dropped on Georgia,” Kaladze said, going as far as claiming that the public now understands “how much political tension Georgian Dream prevented in the country.”
