The International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) has heavily criticized alleged pressure on public servants who denounced the Georgian Dream party’s decision to postpone EU integration negotiations until 2028.
ISFED emphasized that municipal employees across institutions had declared support for Georgia’s European integration and condemned the ruling party’s decision, mentioning it violated Article 78 of the constitution.
“Coercion into resignations or persecution for political opinions is unacceptable and constitutes a criminal offense,” ISFED stated.
The organization further stated that it will ensure legal assistance to any public servants who are challenged with dismissal based on their political views.
