The Government of Georgia, in answer to an appeal from the Central Election Commission, announced Friday October 25 as a public holiday.
The CEC says the decision of the government was based on its appeal, which claims the activity on working days may hinder the timely arrangement of the polling stations located in public schools and kindergartens.
The CEC further said that out of 3,031 election precincts, 483 are in kindergartens, 1,675 are in public schools, and 873 are in other facilities.
