In the I-III quarters of 2023, 5,566,980 international travelers visited Georgia, which is a 76.9% recovery on the data of the period before the pandemic, and an +43% increase compared to 2022, read the statistical data released by the National Tourism Administration of Georgia relating to international travelers in January-September.
The agency says the number of international tourist visits in 9 months amounted to 3,655,576, which is a 91.6% recovery of the data of 2019, and an +35.2% increase compared to 2022.
“In Q3 2023, 2,706,863 international travelers visited Georgia, which is an 80.2% recovery from pre-pandemic data, and an +19.4% increase compared to 2022.
“In the period of July-September 2023, 1,725,093 international tourist visits were carried out in Georgia, which is a 92.6% recovery of the data of 2019, and an +15.4% increase compared to 2022.
“The number of international travelers and international tourist visits is calculated according to the methodology developed on the basis of the recommendation of the World Tourism Organization and includes the visits already made and completed”, the National Tourism Administration reports.
