Based on the GeoStat data, in 2023, the number of emigrants increased by 95.6%. Statistics show that 62.2% of emigrants are working age population.
“In 2023, the number of emigrants amounted to 245,064 people, which is 95.6 percent more than the previous year, and the number of immigrants increased by 14.5 percent to 205,857 people.
“During the same period, 75.9 percent of immigrants and 62.2 percent of emigrants were working age population (age group 15-64).
“In 2023, 44.6 percent of immigrants and 66.7 percent of emigrants were Georgian citizens,” reads the information.
Emigration is one of the most acute problems for Georgia, as an alarming part of the population leaves the country to search for better jobs and salaries abroad.
