The number of hospitals operating in Georgia declined in 2025, while the country’s hospital bed capacity increased, data from the 2025 healthcare indicators shows.
Georgia had 232 hospitals in 2025, seven fewer than in 2024. However, the total number of hospital beds rose by 1.8% year-on-year, reaching 15,200.
The number of outpatient and polyclinic facilities increased to 2,318, up by 30 compared with the previous year. These facilities recorded 16.8 million doctor consultations in 2025, a 6% increase compared with 2024.
The number of doctors working in medical institutions decreased to 22,500, down from 24,100 a year earlier. Meanwhile, the number of nursing staff remained unchanged at 21,300.
