Preliminary data released by Geostat reported that Georgia’s economy expanded by 7.5% in 2025, reflecting continued growth driven by high-value service industries.
The country’s gross domestic product (GDP) reached GEL 104.6 billion (approximately $38.1 billion) while GDP per capita exceeded $10,000 for the first time, standing at $10,296.
The fastest growth was recorded in the information, communication and IT sector which increased by 28.7% year-on-year. In absolute terms, the sector generated GEL 7.37 billion, the fourth-largest contributor to the economy. The education sector followed with a 24.5% increase while financial and insurance activities grew by 12.9%.
At the same time, several traditional sectors experienced contraction. Output declined in mining and quarrying by 3%, agriculture by 5.7% and the energy sector by 4.5%.
