Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the Georgian government will award a 3 million GEL bonus to the national basketball team for its historic success at EuroBasket.
Speaking at a government session, Kobakhidze emphasized that the same amount will be allocated for each subsequent victory the team secures in the tournament.
“Since we have achieved a historic result in basketball, I would like to celebrate it with an appropriate monetary bonus from the government. We are going to allocate 3 million GEL for the success already achieved and for every future win at EuroBasket,” Kobakhidze stated.
Yesterday, in Riga, Georgia defeated France in the round of 16, advancing to the EuroBasket quarterfinals for the first time in history.
