Georgian Dream debates “Russian” law in the 3rd reading as protest continues

Georgian Dream MPs are in Parliament now discussing the foreign agents’ law (Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence) in the third reading as crowds continue an all-night protest outside the building.

Those MPs who have spoken to journalists have said the law WILL be passed, regardless of the protests. Opposition MPs say they continue to be denied the right to ask questions or express their views in Parliament.

Hundreds of special police have blocked the area around Parliament and water cannons are in place.

Despite some clashes between police and protesters, the rally continues to be peaceful.
