The first special flight organized by the Georgian government has departed from Oman to Tbilisi, carrying Georgian citizens who were unable to return home due to regional airspace disruptions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia stated that the decision to arrange repatriation flights followed the closure of airspace in several Middle Eastern countries amid ongoing regional developments which significantly disrupted international travel.

To assist affected citizens, the government scheduled additional special flights to Tbilisi on March 3, 4, and 5. The initiative ensures the timely and safe return of Georgian nationals who faced travel delays.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry emphasized that the Georgian authorities continue to take all necessary steps to facilitate the safe repatriation of their citizens.

Georgian embassies in the United Arab Emirates, the Qatar and the Saudi Arabia remain actively engaged in providing consular assistance and coordinating return efforts.

“We wish our compatriots a peaceful flight and a safe return to their homeland,” the ministry said in its official statement.
