Georgia’s insurance industry reported strong revenue expansion in the first nine months of 2025 as premium collections rose to almost GEL 1.1 billion, increasing 11.6% year-on-year.
As of September 30 2025, the market included 19 licensed insurers operating across life and non-life segments with 19 companies holding active licenses. Direct insurance premiums reached GEL 1.098 billion.
While underwriting activity remained robust the sector’s bottom line softened. Insurers recorded GEL 272 million in insurance profit but GEL 113 million in net profit down by GEL 2 million compared to the same period in 2024.
Despite narrower margins financial stability indicators improved. Total assets grew by nearly 11% annually reaching GEL 1.696 billion and sector capital increased to GEL 517 million.
