Giorgi Gakharia, the chairman of the ‘Gakharia for Georgia’ party, has made several demands, stating at a briefing that the entire voter base should be transferred to a neutral, objective platform, where each voter can verify the information. In particular, did they participate in the elections, in which precinct, and at what time they voted.
In addition, Gakharia requests the CEC to disclose the contract signed with Smartmatic, which conducts elections electronically.
“The CEC, which instead of helping the citizens of Georgia and bringing the country out of the crisis, once again organized a provocation, came out and made some statement as a precaution, which is not true in any way.
“Today, we requested the CEC to convey the contract signed with Smartmatic and all the changes made in this contract, so that it can be made public.
“In addition, we demanded that the entire base of 2,076,791 voters who came to the elections on October 26, 2024 be transferred to a neutral, objective platform, where each voter should be able to individually verify the following data – whether they participated in the election, at which precinct, and at what time they voted.
“Today, the CEC came out and said that this violates personal data and the law. I would like to remind the CEC that no one is asking for the bases to be made public, it is about the voter’s confirmation and protection of the fact of voting. Even today, there is an information base on the CEC website, where each of us can log in, verify themselves and see to which district they are registered. We request that the details I have listed be added to this information. They can do it in one hour, no problem.
“Now let’s explain why we want this and why we applied to CEC to publish the Smartmatik contract. We do not know how the contract with Smartmatic was signed and how long this information will be stored, maybe in 10 days or 1 month, this information will become unavailable to us.
“In the conditions of such great tension and political crisis, when there is so much international pressure on the country, when the country’s path to European development is blocked, if the state really says that nothing happened during the elections, making this information public will once and for all close the issue of whether the election results were manipulated.
“If it didn’t happen, the CEC can make this information public in any way, it can be a protected, neutral platform. If the CEC wants to restore trust, it should take this step, if they are not interested and efuse, then this answer will be an answer.
“We are trying to somehow get the country out of the crisis Dream brought it to, in such a way that our European perspective and our democratic development perspective are minimally damaged and we save what is left,” said Gakharia.
