No one can pressure us to cancel the lists – we will leave the mandates when and in the form we consider necessary – Giorgi Gakharia, the leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, told journalists.
He claimed that by canceling the parliamentary lists, the opposition cannot absolve itself of responsibility for the crisis the country is in today.
“As for the issue of canceling the lists, I will repeat once again that no one can pressure us to cancel the lists. We are clearly saying that today the issue of canceling the lists is being discussed by people who have nothing real to offer the angry voters. Because the voters are actually angry. We are saying a simple thing that talking about canceling the lists is not something that will absolve the opposition of guilt for the crisis we are in today. If someone thinks that by canceling the lists, they will absolve themselves of responsibility for the crisis the country is in today, they are very mistaken. If someone thinks, either through “National Movement” or “Dream,” that they will somehow manage to pressure us into acting according to their agenda, this will not be the case. We repeat once again and were the first to say that this parliament will have no legitimacy. Which we confirmed yesterday. As for the lists, we will do it then and exactly as we consider it necessary. We will not ask this of either the “National Movement” or Ivanishvili and his party. We will leave the mandates then and in such a form as we consider necessary,” Gakharia said.
For information, at the moment, the members of Unity-National Movement, Giorgi Vashadze and the members of Coalition for Change and Strong Georgia have already applied to the Parliament with the request to terminate their mandates.
