Former PM Gakharia: We Unite for Georgia, but against No One

Giorgi Gakharia will be the chairman of the political union For Georgia. The relevant decision was made by the members of the newly formed party, who supported his candidacy.

The party charter was also approved at the party meeting.

“Today we unite for Georgia, but against no one. Our team will be actively involved in the political process for Georgia and I emphasize once again, against no one,” Gakharia said.

The presentation of the political union of the former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia ‘For Georgia’ is taking place in the building of ‘Expo Georgia.’

Representatives of the movements ‘For Georgia’ and ‘Shame’  are gathered near the Expo Georgia in Tbilisi, who claim that Gakharia represents Russia in Georgia and “he plays the same games as Bidzina Ivanishvili and the Georgian Dream.”

Gakharia resigned as PM on February 18 due to differences of opinion about the arrest of Nika Melia, the leader of the National Movement. However, following his resignation, the former PM announced that he was not going to leave politics.
