Georgia’s Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance reported that two individuals have been charged in Samegrelo for commercial bribery, negligence, and document forgery.
Authorities say one of the suspects, an employee of a local medical institution, illegally profited by issuing fake drug test certificates without conducting the actual assessments. Investigators revealed the certificates were sold to individuals seeking to bypass official procedures.
The second suspect, alleged with “failing to exercise appropriate control over the issuance of documents,” allowed the forgery scheme to continue unchecked.
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 220¹, 221, and 362 of the Georgian Criminal Code. If convicted, the accused face prison sentences ranging from two to four years.
