For Georgia Party Members Become Chairmen of Zugdidi, Rustavi, Chkhorotsku & Tsalenjikha City Councils

Members of the party For Georgia, established by Former PM Giorgi Gakharia, became Chairmen of Zugdidi, Rustavi, Chkhorotsku and Tsalenjikha City Councils (Sakrebulo).

Yesterday, on February 14, Giga Parulava became the chairman of Zugdidi City Council.

“This is the process of ending the one-party rule of the Georgian Dream in the municipalities. Chairs and high positions are not a priority for us. The election of Giga Farulava in Zugdidi is good for the people of Zugdidi in the first place because he is a representative of a party that can compromise for the citizens,” commented Natia Mezvrishvili, a member of For Georgia.

“With consistent politics of compromises, our political party ForGeorgia has begun changes and the end of GeorgianDream’s one-party rule in Georgia by winning chairmanship in 4 municipal Councils. Proof that doing politics without radicalism and boycott is possible and brings change,” she added.

With consistent politics of compromises our political party @ForGeorgia25 has begun changes & the end of @GeorgianDream41’s one-party rule in 🇬🇪 by winning chairmanship in 4 municipal Council’s. Proof that doing politics without radicalism & boycott is possible & brings change.

For Georgia party was founded by former Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia. The presentation of the party was held on May 29, 2021.

Giorgi Gakharia resigned as Prime Minister on February 18. According to him, it was unjustified to arrest the chairman of the United National Movement, Nika Melia, in conditions when there was a danger of political escalation. According to Giorgi Gakharia, the reason for his resignation was also that he could not reach an agreement with the Georgian Dream team.
