Apart from the representatives of the Georgian Football Federation and its President Levan Kobiashvili, Gianni Infantino also met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.
The government’s press office announced that the meeting focused on the government’s steps to promote football.
The parties discussed future plans, including the planned construction of a new stadium of international standards, which will accommodate 70,000 spectators.
Also, the meeting covered Georgia’s application to host the U20 World Championship.
Gianni Infantino noted that the application is at the review stage and the successful European Youth Championship held in Georgia last year will also have a positive impact on the process.
