EU Amb: The Visit of Olivér Várhelyi will Push the EU-Georgia Relations Even Further

The official visit of European Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi is the first such high-level visit since Georgia received the European perspective in June, I sincerely hope that this visit will push the EU-Georgia relations even further, said the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski.

He claimed that 12 recommendations of the European Commission, as well as economic and investment plans will be discussed during the visit.

“Today we have an official visit of European Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi, who is responsible for enlargement within the European Commission. This is the first such high level visit since Georgia received a European perspective in June this year. There are too many reasons for the visit. The first is the discussion about the 12 recommendations and the way work is progressing on their implementation. And the second reason is economic and investment plan. These are very important projects to develop the economy of Georgia with European support. This is about resilience, connectivity, digital and green. All this will be discussed today and tomorrow. we have a very busy programme at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Georgia. We will also see the President. We will have a meeting in Parliament, involving all political parties. I sincerely hope that this visit will push the EU-Georgia relations even further. I’m really excited and I’m looking forward to a very successful visit of Commissioner Várhelyi”, the Ambassador noted.
