Chairman of the Estonian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Marko Mikhelson, has accused the ruling Georgian Dream party of deliberately hindering Georgia’s prospects of joining the European Union and NATO.
“The Georgian dictatorial party ‘Georgian Dream’ is doing everything to ensure that their country never becomes a member of the European Union and NATO. Only Russia and China benefit from this,” Mikhelson wrote.
His remarks came in response to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s statement regarding the planned lawsuit to declare certain political parties unconstitutional. Kobakhidze said the specific list of parties would be announced once the lawsuit is formally submitted to the Constitutional Court in the coming days.
