The European Parliament stated on the X platform that “Georgia cannot join the EU until its government changes its authoritarian course.”
In the statement, the EP reaffirmed its support for the Georgian people and declared that it does not recognize the country’s current government.
It added that Georgia’s path to EU membership is effectively suspended until fair and democratic elections are held.
