The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia reported that the Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Turkey, Giorgi Janjghava, and the embassy employees, arrived in the disaster area.
They met Georgian rescuers and Georgian citizens in Turkey. The head of the diplomatic mission also held a meeting with the Governor of Adıyaman, Mahmut Çuhadar.
“Giorgi Janjghava, on behalf of the Government of Georgia and the Georgian people, once again expressed his condolence over the tragedy and expressed his support to the Turkish people. On his part, the governor thanked the Georgian people and the government of Georgia for the assistance, and highlighted the special contribution and selfless work of the Georgian rescuers, as a result of which three people were saved,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
As for the information available at the moment, 5 citizens of Georgia died as a result of the earthquake. Dozens of citizens have been transferred from the disaster area to other regions and cities in Turkey, and some have already returned to Georgia.
