The draft resolution on the Set-up of the Interim Fact-Finding Commission into corruption and other illegal actions in the judicial system was rejected for the vote.
After discussion of the issue, the MPs of the parliamentary majority did not register.
As the leader of the parliamentary majority, Irakli Kobakhidze, said at the session, “the majority would refrain from registering in the interests of the court’s independence, which is an act of political solidarity with the judges.”
After the review of the draft resolution, 51 MPs passed the registration.
Accordingly, the quorum was not reached. The draft resolution on the Set-up of the Interim Fact-Finding Commission into corruption and other illegal actions in the judicial system was presented by the opposition MPs as an initiative.
