Court to announce its conclusion on the impeachment appeal of the President today

The Constitutional Court will announce its opinion on the submission for impeachment of the President today.

The Constitutional Court considered the submission prepared by Georgian Dream at the beginning of October. The discussion lasted 3 days.

The ruling party, which accuses the President of violating the Constitution, was represented at the sessions by 4 deputies, including the chairman of Georgian Dream Irakli Kobakhidze. The President’s representatives were lawyers – Tamar Chugoshvili and Maia Kopaleishvili. President Zurabishvili herself did not attend the court proceedings.

Georgian Dream accuses the President of violating the Constitution because of her visits to Europe without the permission of the Government.
