Court sentences 2 protesters to 8-day administrative detention, imposes fine on one of them

On November 19, during the confrontation between the police and the participants of the rally on Melikishvili Avenue, three persons – Isako Devidze, Irakli Andghuladze and Davit Tsotsoria – were arrested by the court as lawbreakers.

Based on the decision of judge Koba Chagunava, Isako Devidze was sentenced to 8 days of administrative detention.

Based on the decision of judge Lela Tsagareishvili, Irakli Andghuladze was fined 2,700 GEL as an administrative fine.

Judge Nino Enukidzie sentenced Davit Tsotsoria to 8-day administrative detention.

During the confrontation between the police and the participants of the rally on Melikishvili Avenue, the law enforcement officers arrested 16 people in an administrative manner. 3 of them were released on the basis of a handwritten note, while the rest were placed in temporary isolation cells. Of them, only 3 people have been tried at this stage. The remaining 48-hour period of administrative detention will expire tomorrow morning at 08:00.
