Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 829 New Cases, 8 Deaths

Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 829 New Cases, 8 Deaths

829 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Georgia in the last 24 hours, Berdia Sichinava, representative of the Interagency Coordination Council, said at the briefing held at the Government Administration. He spoke about the latest statistics on coronavirus.

“18 331 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, including 12 700 antigen tests and 5 631 PCRs.

“The tests revealed 829 newly confirmed cases of the infection.

“Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 314 COVID-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 150 cases and the Adjara region with 37 cases.

“566 people have recovered and the total number of recovered persons has increased to 252 246.

“Sadly, 8 new coronavirus-related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

“Georgia’s total case tally now stands at 263 057, among them 254 916 people recovered and 3 301 died.

“Currently, there are 480 critical patients, among them, 127 require mechanical ventilation,” announced Berdia Sichinava.
