Coronavirus: Georgia Records 240 New Cases, 9056 Tests Performed

Coronavirus: Georgia Records 240 New Cases, 9056 Tests Performed

240 new confirmed cases of coronavirus were detected in the last 24 hours, Berdia Sichinava, representative of the Interagency Coordination Council, said at the briefing held at the Government Administration. He spoke about the latest statistics on coronavirus.

“9 056 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, including 5 490 antigen tests and 3 566 PCRs.

“The tests revealed 240 new cases of the infection. Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 86 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 37 cases and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 28 cases.

“The total number of confirmed cases detected since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic is 258 351.

“681 people have recovered and the total number of recoveries has increased to 249 709.

“Unfortunately, we have 16 new cases of death. The total number of deaths has reached 3 194.

“Currently, there are 569 critical patients across the country, among them, 162 require mechanical ventilation,” he noted.

Presently, there are 5 448 active cases of coronavirus in Georgia.
