Coronavirus: Georgia Records 2171 New Cases, Positivity Rate almost 8%

Coronavirus: Georgia Records 2171 New Cases, Positivity Rate almost 8%

Georgia reported 2,171 coronavirus cases, 1,074  recoveries, and 24 deaths on Wednesday, the official figures show.

27,648 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country.

The testing revealed that Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1,359 COVID-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 202 cases, and the Adjara region with 135 cases.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 7.85%, while it was 5.33% in the past 14 days.

The total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of COVID-19 is 315,913, among them, 296,532 people recovered and 4,207 died.

Presently, there are 15,154 active cases of infection in the country.

To date, 47,949 people have received a coronavirus vaccine in the country.
