Clashes between police forces and protesters at the demonstration: the police are detaining protesters

At the ongoing protest near the entrance to Tbilisi, there were physical clashes and scuffles between the police and demonstrators. Law enforcement officers detained several protesters on the spot.

Due to the scuffles, some protesters began to feel unwell.

The demonstrators attempted to block the roadway, while law enforcement officers urged them to clear the road. Ultimately, police forces prevented the protesters gathered near Tbilisi Mall from blocking the road, and traffic flow at the entrance to Tbilisi has since been restored.

Tensions had already escalated multiple times at the scene, with police arresting several protesters, including opposition figures Nika Melia and Gigi Ugulava, as well as activist Dimitri Bidzinashvili.
