Following the restoration of direct flights between Russia and Georgia, citizens gathered in protest in front of the Georgian Airways office in Tbilisi as the company has announced that it will operate Tbilisi-Moscow-Tbilisi flights 7 times a week. The protesters chanted: “No to Russian flights”.
The statement of the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia revealed the company will start flights from May 20, in the direction of Tbilisi-Moscow-Tbilisi.
Representatives of various opposition parties, members of the civil movement and ordinary citizens participated in a rally under the name “We cannot enter the European Union on a Russian ship”.
The police were also mobilized near the Georgian Airways office.
