“We will do our best to ensure that Georgia has access to vaccine doses,” European Council President Charles Michel said at a joint briefing after meeting with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili.
Michel expressed hope that vaccines will be distributed in Georgia soon.
“I hope that vaccines will be distributed in Georgia soon. We will do our best, of course, together with the World Health Organization, to ensure that Georgia has access to vaccine doses,” he said.
During his meeting with Salome Zurabishvili, he reiterated strong support of the European Union for Georgia’s territorial integrity.
Michel will visit the occupation line later today.
“I would like to reiterate the strong support and assistance of the European Union for the territorial integrity of Georgia. In the afternoon, I will have the opportunity to visit the administrative demarcation line near the territory of “South Ossetia”.
“Another reminder for Georgia is that unity is very important: unification around core values. You can count on the EU’s involvement in this regard,” Michel noted.
The President of the European Council will meet with representatives of both the government and the opposition during the day.
