The de facto administration of occupied Abkhazia declared the conscription of its residents shortly after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered partial mobilization in Russia.
After the separatist authorities of Abkhazia explored the potential of recruiting people from the occupied region, the announcement of today’s military duty was made.
Aslan Bzhania, Abkhazia’s separatist regime’s President signed a decree on conscription in October-December 2022 of citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia for military service, noted Apsnypress.
“From October 1 to December 31, 2022, military conscription of citizens aged 18 to 27 years old who are not in the reserve and are subject to conscription for military service will take place in Abkhazia,” stated Apsnypress.
The regulation provides for the dismissal of military members whose conscription-based term of military service has ended.
The de facto Republic of Abkhazia’s Cabinet of Ministers, the district and city administrations, and the city of Sokhumi were given instructions to guarantee that the steps relating to the conscription and discharge of residents of the Republic of Abkhazia from military service were fully implemented.
