British Airways has resumed direct flights between London Heathrow and Tbilisi, Georgia, after more than a decade-long hiatus. The inaugural flight departed on March 30, marking the airline’s return to the Georgian capital since its last service in 2013.
The UK’s flagship brought 150 passengers to Georgia. An official reception was held at the government terminal to mark the occasion.
The event was attended by the British Ambassador to Georgia and representatives of the Georgian government.
The airline operates four weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The reintroduction of this route is expected to boost tourism and business travel between the UK and Georgia, enhancing connectivity for travelers from both countries.
In addition to British Airways, easyJet has also launched direct flights from London Luton to Tbilisi, commencing on April 1, 2025, operating twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
