Batumi has been nominated for the title of Europe’s Leading All-Season Destination at the prestigious World Travel Awards, one of the tourism industry’s most respected global recognitions. The city is competing in the category with several major European cities, including Budapest, Geneva, Munich, Salzburg and Stockholm.
Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry, showcasing outstanding destinations, hospitality leaders and service providers. Each year, hundreds of categories and thousands of nominees are featured from countries around the world.
The European Gala Ceremony is taking place today in Italy, attended by the Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, alongside members of the Georgian delegation.
