Proposals for the partial sale of state shares in large Azerbaijani companies to private investors will be prepared this year. SOCAR, AzerGold CJSC, ASCO, BakTelecom, AzTelekom and structures of ABB Bank are named among these companies, said Metin Eynullayev, head of the State Service for Property Issues of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.
He emphasizes that the government is interested in attracting foreign investors in the process of privatization, although the restriction on land rights will remain in force, which only provides for lease transfer.
