Anri Okhanashvili has resigned as Head of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) to assume the role of Prime Minister’s Advisor on national security affairs.
In his statement, Okhanashvili emphasized the importance of addressing global and regional security challenges through analytical work and thanked the Service staff for their joint achievements.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream party, will succeed Okhanashvili as the new Head of the State Security Service.
