Tamar Bagrationi, the wife of Georgia’s President Mikheil Kavelashvili, delivered a speech at a high-level international summit held in Washington, D.C., hosted by Melania Trump.
The event, titled “Together for a Better Future,” brought together global participants to discuss issues related to children’s well-being, education, and the challenges of the digital age.
In her address, Bagrationi emphasized Georgia’s deep historical legacy and the values that continue to shape her role as First Lady.
“I represent a nation whose history spans more than three millennia. Centuries ago, Georgia was ruled by Queen Tamar — the first female monarch who was titled as king.
“She firmly believed that the greatness of a ruler is measured by how well they protect those most in need of care and support.
“For me, as First Lady, carrying her name and representing the legacy of the Bagrationi royal dynasty is both a great privilege and a profound responsibility,” Bagrationi said.
Her remarks highlighted the symbolic connection between Georgia’s historical heritage and contemporary leadership, particularly in the context of advocating for vulnerable groups and future generations.
The summit, organized on the initiative of Melania Trump, gathered international representatives to explore collaborative approaches aimed at ensuring a safer and more supportive environment for children worldwide.
