Several students of Tbilisi State University met with Rector Jaba Samushia following a protest on campus.
At 11:00 a.m., students began a demonstration in front of the main TSU building, demanding access to the Academic Council meeting, where the proposed merger of the Georgian Technical University and Tbilisi State University was under discussion. However, the protesters were not allowed to attend the council session.
After the meeting concluded, several students were admitted to meet with Rector Jaba Samushia at their request.
Meanwhile, students and lecturers opposing the merger of the two universities continue to remain in the TSU campus yard.
