On January 14, Georgia’s State Flag Day, representatives of youth organizations unfurled the Georgian national flag alongside the European Union flag at the historic Narikala Fortress in Tbilisi. The initiative was organized by the Youth Accord Act initiative group.
The organizers stated that the event highlighted the significance of the Georgian state flag as a symbol of national unity, consensus and sovereignty. The group emphasized that the flag reflects Georgia’s historical legacy, the struggle for freedom and a shared responsibility for the country’s future.
This year, participants deliberately chose to display the EU flag together with the Georgian flag to underline their commitment to Georgia’s European integration path. The initiative group stated that young people view European integration as the strongest route for Georgia’s sovereignty, national interests and democratic values.
