Georgia’s Roads Department announced that rehabilitation work on a 5.5-kilometer section of the Borjomi–Baghi–Tba–Tsemi road has been completed. The upgraded stretch runs through Borjomi Municipality and serves several resort villages, including Sadgeri, Tba and Tsemi, areas where safe and reliable road access is especially important for both residents and visitors.
The project involved improving the road’s technical parameters, rehabilitating and widening the carriageway and restoring drainage systems, culverts, and other supporting structures. Access routes to households and local roads were reorganized while a bus stop, road markings and signage were added to improve overall safety.
Officials note that the renewed road will significantly ease daily travel for families living in the nearby villages.
The rehabilitation was financed from the state budget at a cost of 5.2 million GEL. It follows a larger phase of reconstruction carried out in 2022 when a separate 6.5-kilometer section of the same route underwent full capital rehabilitation.
