Tbilisi’s TBC Concept Gallery will host a solo exhibition by Georgian artist Rusudan Khizanishvili, titled ‘Personal Iconography’, running from September 1 to October 15, 2025. The show will open on September 1 from 18:00 to 20:00and will be curated by Irena Popiashvili.
The exhibition will operate on two levels: the first floor introduces Khizanishvili’s black-and-white pencil drawings while the second features six of her large-scale, vividly colored canvases.
Khizanishvili describes her works on paper as ‘diary entries,’ often created at home rather than in the studio. Her graphite figures, giant, textured women in surreal settings, evoke mysterious narratives that resist clear interpretation. At times they recall the enigmatic prints of Cuban artist Belkis Ayón.
Over the past decade, Khizanishvili has exhibited widely in Georgia and abroad, with recent shows at Seojung Art Gallery (Busan/Seoul), Kornfeld (Berlin) and upcoming projects in Mexico City. Her works are held in both public and private collections, including the Georgian National Museum of Art and the Breus Foundation.
All works on view are courtesy of the artist and Window Project, Tbilisi. The gallery is located at Marjanishvili 7, TBC Concept Flagship, and is open Monday–Saturday, 10:00–20:00.
