A Georgian citizen has been illegally detained by Russian occupation forces near the village of Kveshi in Gori municipality, the State Security Service of Georgia announced.

The agency says information about the incident was immediately shared with the co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions and Georgia’s international partners.

The State Security Service noted that all available mechanisms have been activated to ensure the swift release of the detained individual.

“The occupying power bears full responsibility for destructive actions carried out in Georgia’s occupied territories and along the occupation line,” the statement emphasized.
