Exhibition of Methods of Promoting Youth Employment & Entrepreneurship

On April 22, an exhibition of methods of youth employment and entrepreneurship was held in the Tbilisi Botanical Garden.  The event was organized within the framework of the EU-funded project ‘Say Yes – Skills for Jobs’ by World Vision Georgia in cooperation with the Academy for Peace and Development (APD). The partner of the event was the Network of Caucasus Environmental Organizations (CENN).

The aim of the exhibition was to promote the sharing of experience and raise awareness of successful practices among organizations working in the field of youth employment and entrepreneurship.

“One of the main challenges for the youth sector is access to information on various opportunities or activities. In order to conduct youth activities in a more coordinated manner, we are introducing an “exhibition of educational methods” recognized in Europe. In this way, we hope to increase the effectiveness of youth activities,” stated World Vision Director for Georgia, Ekaterine Gurgenadze.

The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, international organizations, educational institutions, the diplomatic corps and the private sector.

The event was held in two stages with a thematic exhibition and panel discussion for organizations held on April 22 at the Tbilisi Botanical Garden and presentations of successful methods of organizations through the Zoom platform held on April 23, allowing those interested to participate.

A panel discussion was held on youth employment policy, where representatives of government agencies, international organizations, educational institutions, the diplomatic corps and the private sector discussed the challenges and recommendations.

World Vision Georgia has been implementing the EU-funded project ‘Say Yes – Skills for Jobs’ since 2018, which aims to help young people acquire the skills needed for employment.

One of the most important components of the project is the establishment of SKYE Youth Clubs, where young people aged 16 to 25 will develop competencies in leadership, social inclusion, entrepreneurship and employment.

16 SKYE clubs have been established in 4 regions of Georgia within the project.
