Protesters who rallied near the Georgian Dream office joined a bigger demonstration in front of the Parliament on Rustaveli Avenue, with other demonstrators applauding their appearance upon arrival, some of whom climbed the metal barricades around the Parliament as part of their protest.
The protest was stirred by an announcement from Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, who declared that Georgia is not set to negotiate with the European Union until 2028 at the earliest, mentioning that the country will not accept any funding from the EU during this interval. The statement was met with extensive public disapproval, resulting in demonstrations countrywide.
