Social media specialists are assisting approximately 100 family-owned hotels and cottages in Adjara to create, manage, and effectively utilize their social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) as part of a training initiative by the Adjara Tourism Department. Launched in October and anticipated to conclude in late November, the project involves over 20 photographers and social media managers visiting accommodations in rural Adjara to create photos and video reels while teaching the owners how to conduct their own social media campaigns. The guest houses were selected based on their lack of social media presence after a rigorous search.
In recent years, the Adjara Tourism Department has trained over 7,500 tour guides and representatives of tourism agencies, hotels, and restaurants to enhance tourism service development. The initiative has a funding allocation of GEL 1,420,000 in the 2025 budget, which will support educational activities, international conferences, and gastro forums.
